Tayside Cancer Support - Volunteer Befriender (Multiple Positions Available)
THE DETAILS
At Tayside Cancer Support, our aim is to offer support, valuable information and befriending for anyone affected by cancer in Tayside. We are a charity (Registered Charity Number SCO22798) currently based in the St Aidan’s Centre in Dundee and have been helping people in Tayside who are in some way, affected by cancer since 1994.
We offer a free and confidential befriending service to anyone coping with a cancer diagnosis, whether patient, relative, or friend. This service is provided by volunteer befrienders who have received relevant professional training which enables them to offer this support. In this role you would be meet with clients to provide support and offer a friendly, independent ear for them during a difficult time.
APPLYING
An induction and full training will be provided, as well as ongoing supervision and facilitation. The next round of training will begin in Spring 2019.
